I have recently made it possible for people to add new people to the genealogies. First off:

There are a number of things to keep in mind, first of all I use a sort of "universal alphabet", so that names can be properly written in all available languages.

Gh = Ghayn غ
T~ = Eth ث
J~ = Hard "Ch" چ ች Oromo 'Ch'
Zh = Zhah ژ ዥ
J# = Glottal "Ch" ጭ Oromo 'C'
P# = Glottal "Pa" ጵ Oromo 'Ph'
N~ = "Nyah" ኝ Oromo 'Ny'
S` = Sawt ሥ
S# = Sad ص
D# = Dad ض
T# = Tah ط (like in Sult#aan or T#alxa) Oromo 'X'
Z# = Zah ظ
H# = Ta Marbutah ة
Aa = Long A
Ee = Long E
Ii = Long I
Oo = Long O
Uu = Long U
X = Hah ح
Kh = Kha خ
Dh = Dha ذ
Sh = Shin ش
C = Ayin ع
' = Hamza ء

This "universal alphabet" is essentially a modified form of the Somali alphabet.

Next the addition itself. Leave Nickname or Title blank if you don't know them, but Name is a required field.

Dh does not equal ذ. It actually isn't in the Arabic language at all. It is used however in the south-asian languages: Gujarati,Punjabi,Hindi etc. The ذ sound is the 'th' in 'the' whereas there is no 'dh' equivalent in English.

•Dhillo

There is, however, no 'ذ' sound in Somali.

It's not perfect but it's what Wadaad writing uses, and I defer to them on this one haha

Ah yes in Wadaad writing, U and W are the same, you can just write W.

R and F are R and F, I only included special letters or combinations in my guide where it is not obvious for instance writing an Arab name. To convert the name properly it needs to follow the guide, because my database cannot record other scripts or special characters. This is mostly for characters where they aren't often used in Somali but often in Arabic, like the hard Tah or Sad, or etc.
