James on Isaaq's history you said that Isaaq married to three women whom produced his 8 boys and other unmentioned girls. However, in my view you got it wrong in the attempt because as in our history received from our ancestors, Isaaq married to only two women not three as you suggested and each one produced four boys and some girls. As we have to follow patrilineal side we leave out females and concentrate on males side, so the two women namely Magado and Habusho gave birth to four boys each as follows:

Magado sons: 1-Ayub, 2-Arab and Ismael(twins), 3-Abdulrahman

Habusho sons: 1-Ibrahim(sanbur), 2-Mohamed(Cibraan), 3-Ahmed(Toljeclo, 4-Muse

For more information you can follow it on: http://isaaq.webs.com/isaaqclan.htm

The Habar Magadle are in the same group because both the women he married were daughters of Magadle, so all their sons were "Habar Magadle", but the story I heard is he married at least two Dir wives and the Habasha wife, and in some stories some other woman in Yemen before he immigrated, and that there are 4 Isaaq clans in Yemen.

"Habar" is relative to who the reer-abti of the sons is, so from that perspective two sisters married to the same man would produce sons with the same "Habar". Xabusheed and Magado are not the names of the women for instance, Magado is just another way of saying Magadle, it refers to the Magadle Dir clan. I don't know the actual name of "Magado" (the mother of Isma'il and Arab).

I've been told by other people that Xaniifa (which was the actual name of Xabusheed) was actually Harari, not Habash, though I suppose that is splitting hairs. Zulaikha Sharif (mother of Awal and Ayub) was a member of the Magadle clan of Dir as was the other, as of yet unnamed other wife of Isaaq (the mother of Isma'il and Arab) but I don't know if she was a sister or a cousin or what.

Then there are all the conspiracy theories about whether Awal is even Isaaq, but I am not going to go there :|

James, you are doing good so far but you have to put in your mind back that there are only two women in the discussion that Sheik Ishaaq married to produce his 8 sons. The third women you call Suleykha of Ashraf origin was married to Abdirahman Sheikh Ishaaq who was the youngest son of Magado(of Magadle). As Somalis is made of an oral society, we inherited our history of who are and who was married to who throught stories from our elders and ancestors one after the other since Sheikh Ishaaq, so I hope you do not try to twist our Abtirsi and learn from us that this is the true Story of Isaaq, in other words Suleykha was daughter-in-law of Sheikh Ishaaq not his wife. I hope one day you visit the village Maydh, the burial place Sheikh Ishaaq.

Also for Abdirahman, he had one son with shariifo(suleykha) and he named that son Subeeral-Alawal, an arabic name, which means "the first Subeer" and also was the family name of Suleyka (Al-aweli), this is where Habarawal comes from . As for Ayub, he is the eldest son of Magado uterine line. So, I would advise that if you are real researcher and want to learn more about Somalis genealogy and background, you need to visit the country itself and collect valuable information from Elders who are specialised in this field. Do not believe in these gibberish information fed to you by others who have no knowledge on the subject. Again, if you want the fact of this you need to visit Somaliland especially towns of Ceerigabo(erigavo)and Maydh, in the East, where you find the full history of great Sheikh Ishaaq in the written Archives at his tomb in Maydh.
