No, this is not general knowledge at all. Western sources on Somali history who have written about Adal and the Futuh al-Habasha have been extremely vague about the origins of the Walashma dynasty, and Cerulli claimed they were related to Isaaqs.

I know the basic facts about the 1500s and the wars, but nothing beyond what is written in the Futuh al-Habasha and a few Harari chronicles, none of which mention the clan or ancestry of anybody. My knowledge of Somali history is broad but has numerous holes, but I'm working to fill them where I can.
I know quite a bit for a westerner
